Privacy Policy
NumSpot - AppLock & ScreenLock · Effective date: 12 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information NumSpot - AppLock & ScreenLock ("NumSpot", "the app", "we", "us") handles, why, and the choices you have. The app is provided by NumSpot Inc. You can reach us at yashreeapps@gmail.com.
1. Information that stays on your device
To work as a lock, NumSpot saves the following in the app's private storage on your phone only. It is never sent to us or to our servers.
- Your secret number and the position of your secret spot.
- Your backup PIN or pattern, stored as a one-way hash (not in readable form).
- The wallpaper you choose. If you pick a photo from your gallery, a copy is saved inside the app's private storage.
- The list of apps you chose to protect (app package names) and your settings (grid difficulty, lockout limits, ghost mode, notification choice and similar).
- Counters used for the wrong-attempt lockout.
Because this data is not sent to us, we cannot see it and cannot recover it for you. Deleting the app, clearing its data or using "Reset Lock & Security Settings" removes it.
2. Permissions and how they are used
| Permission | Why NumSpot needs it |
|---|---|
| Display over other apps | To show the NumSpot lock screen on top of a protected app and when your screen turns on. You grant it in your phone's system settings. |
| Usage access | To detect which app is currently open, so the lock can appear when a protected app is opened. Only the app's package name is checked, on your device, to decide when to lock. It is not uploaded, sold or used for advertising. NumSpot does not read your messages, photos or the content of other apps. |
| Foreground service and notifications | To keep protection running in the background and show a protection-status notification. You can also receive messages from us if you allow notifications. |
| Run at startup | To start protection again after your phone restarts. |
| Internet | To load ads, fetch app configuration and send crash and analytics data (see section 3). |
You can turn any permission off at any time in your phone's Settings. The lock will stop working for as long as a required permission is off.
3. Information collected by third-party services
NumSpot includes third-party software development kits (SDKs). They may collect information such as your advertising ID, device identifiers, device model, operating system version, language, approximate location derived from your IP address, IP address, app interactions, and crash logs. NumSpot itself does not ask for the location permission.
| Service | Purpose | More information |

4. Advertising
NumSpot is free and contains ads. Ad partners may use your advertising ID to show ads and measure their performance. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your Android settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads). Opting out does not remove ads but makes them less personalized.
5. How we use information
- To provide and run the lock features on your device.
- To show ads and keep the app free.
- To measure usage, find and fix crashes, and improve the app.
- To send notifications you have allowed.
- To meet legal obligations and protect against abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. Information obtained through the Usage access and Display over other apps permissions is used only to provide the lock features you asked for. It is not used for advertising, not sold, and not shared with third parties.
6. What NumSpot does not access
NumSpot does not access your contacts, SMS, call history, microphone, camera or location (via permission), and it does not read the content of other apps.
7. Security
Your PIN and pattern are stored as hashes, and the lock and setup screens are marked so they do not appear in screenshots or the recent-apps preview. No method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your backup PIN safe.
8. Data retention and deletion
Data stored on your device remains until you reset the app, clear its data or uninstall it. Data held by third-party services is kept under their policies. To ask for deletion of data held by us or our service providers, contact us using the details below and include enough information for us to identify your device or install (for example, the OneSignal or advertising ID if you know it).
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
10. Children
NumSpot is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will work to remove it.
11. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, they rely on legal transfer mechanisms.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page, and the effective date at the top will change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the updated policy.
